Completed Project: ONR Coastal Mixing and Optics Moored Array Experiment (CMO)
To identify specific processes and conditions contributing to
vertical mixing and the evolution of stratification on a broad
continental shelf, we deployed a moored array at midshelf in the
mid-Altantic Bight. The experiment incorporated data from four
fully-instrumented surface moorings, four subsurface moorings,
a Seatex WaveScan buoy, a moored Fanbeam Doppler Profiler, and
hundreds of CTD casts. Funding for CMO was provided by the Office
of Naval Research.
Please see the main CMO section for detailed information and data.
Monthly plots, information about the CTD surveys, wave package, and more can be found on the page uopcmo.html.
Archived CMO data can be found here.
